One of the most pleasant and surprising experiences of my decision to seek a position on Covington City Council has been meeting my “Young Supporters.” Let me introduce Bonnie and Eli.

“Miss Bonnie,” first-grader at Sixth District Elementary School, has already received a “Student of the Month” award.

Her mom, one of my dear friends, owns and operates the “Head to Toe” hair salon in Latonia. Recently, she was on Facetime with her mom and said, “I seen a sign today that said Dan Francis.” Evidently, it was one of our billboards near Holmes High School on Madison Avenue. Her mother couldn’t wait to tell me, since they were the first dancers at our Campaign Kickoff.

Meet Eli Hamilton, a first grader at White’s Tower Elementary. I performed the wedding of his parents, Brandon and Vanessa, in June, 2013. Brandon has been involved in my campaign since day one. At one of the morning meetings at my home, Eli attended with his dad. After listening to our planning, he asked if he could have a sign. He often carries the sign in the car and holds it up to the window for others to see. His dad said, “He’s ALL IN!”

These are two of many stories I will carry with me after Election Day this Tuesday. While these two “Small Supporters” cannot enter the voting booth, they have enriched my experience in powerful and surprising ways!
